“€40m Or No Deal !” – Club placed €40m price-tag on Arsenal target

It has been reported that Arsenal transfer target Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be shown the exit waya at Mainz at the end of the season.

As report by Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, the player will swap club in the summer, amid “keen” interest from Premier League giants Arsenal.

The reports says the Bundesliga side are ready to cash in on the midfielder and are wanting a fee in the region of €40m for any sides interested in signing the player. Although there is no mentioned of any interest coming from Arsenal for the player in this report.

Arsenal are looking to improve the core of their team in the summer and have highlighted Gbamin as a possible signing, but will have to table a bid in the region of €40m to land him in the upcoming transfer window.

Gbamin has impressed in the Bundesliga for Mainz this season, scoring twice in 24 appearances in the league. He has also been capped four times by Ivory Coast, despite representing France at various youth levels.

The 23-year-old joined Mainz from RC Lens in 2016 and has made over 50 appearances for the club, after playing 98 times for Lens through Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.
