According to reports, Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi could find himself in serious trouble for his celebration against Cardiff City on Sunday.
As reported by The Daily Mirror, it’s claimed that Mustafi’s celebration against Cardiff was related to Albania’s national flag.
It was this same goal celebration that saw Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka and Liverpool new signing Xherdan Shaqiri get fined during the World Cup and Mustafi could be the next to come in for similar criticism.
Mustafi, like Xhaka and Shaqiri, has an Albanian background. The report claims that the German defender was born into an Albanian family from Macedonia.
However, neither Xhaka or Shaqiri received any ban during the World Cup, but the pair were fined for their actions during the tournament.
Shkodran Mustafi netted the first goal of the game for Arsenal before goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette sealed a 3-2 victory for Unai Emery’s side.
The victory away at Cardiff City saw the Gunners move into top half of the Premier League table, with two wins from four fixtures.
