LATEST: Announcement Imminent - Arsenal have agreed $22m fee with Bundesliga club for 29-year-old

Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund over a shocking deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos this summer.

The North London club have been on the lookout for an experienced centre-back and if reports coming from the Telegraph is anything to go by, the Gunners have agreed a deal worth £16m ($22m) with the German club for the Sokratis.
Unai Emery has already signed Juventus’ Stephan Lichtsteiner as his first transfer deal of the summer and with Arsenal although he joined on a free transfer and it seems
Sokratis is being touted with a move to Arsenal with the view of walking straight into the team’s first-team to help the club remedy their defensive woes.
Considering many poor displays from Shkodran Mustafi this just concluded season with Laurent Koscielny’s injury troubles appears to have prompted the Guners to move quickly in securing the signing of the 29-year-old defender.
It’s being speculated that Arsenal’s deal for Sokratis will not be officially confirmed until the start of the coming month, but it seems the Gunners have all but secured the defender’s services for a fee of £16m ($22m) according to the Telegraph.
