Welcome To London: £35million-rated Spotted at London Airport Ahead of Medicals With Arsenal

Arsene Wenger reportedly wants his side to step up their efforts in a bid to sign Sevilla star Steven N'Zonzi. The 29-year-old is expected to move on from the Spanish side in January following a bust-up with former boss Eduardo Berizzo during the side's 3-3 draw with Liverpool in the Champions League.

The France international fuelled speculations of a move to Arsenal after the Frenchman was spotted at Gatwick Airport on Tuesday night in the lead-up to the winter transfer window.

According to report from The Daily Express, Wenger is keen to press ahead with plans to sign N’Zonzi when the window opens next week. It's claimed that the French midfielder is Arsenal's priority transfer target, but Everton are also expressing a strong interest in the ex-Stoke City man. N’Zonzi has a £35million release clause in his contract at at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Earlier this month, the Frenchman confirmed that his Sevilla future was all but over. He told France Football:

‘The coach pointed the finger at me [at half-time of the Liverpool game]. I will not repeat it… but his words affected me.

‘Publicly, he said in future he would only select players who fit his vision for football. What does that mean? ‘Whether in a 4-3-3, 3-5-2 or any other formation, a player must adapt to what his coach demands and I have always done it.

‘The fact I was always professional despite the circumstances, that I always did my job, I found it unfair. ‘My future is clearly away from Seville. The only thing that disappoints me is the way it has ended.’
