GUEST POST: Man United to hijack Arsenal's move for £90m-rated attacker

Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Monaco's £90m-rated attacker Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Star.

The France international became one of the most sought after players in Europe after netting 14 goals and creating 17 assists to help the Ligue 1 giants to title winning last season.
He attracted strong interest from the Gunners and Liverpool during the summer with Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev confirming in October that the Premier League pair made attempts to secure his signature on deadline day.

Arsenal and Liverpool are being tipped to renew their interest with the Independent reporting last week that the Reds are confident they are in pole position ahead of the North London club to sign the Frenchman.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is on the look out for another attacking midfielder with Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho being linked with a move to join Barcelona and it appears the Merseyside's boss is lining-up Lemar as a potential replacement.

Arsene Wenger also needs to strengthen his attacking options as Alexis Sanchez is set to leave the Emirates after failing to sign a new contract and the French attacker is seemingly on the Gunners boss radar.

However, Liverpool and Arsenal may now face fresh competition as the Daily Star claim that Man Utd have now joined the race to sign Lemar after Jose Mourinho identified him as a transfer target.

The newspaper is citing a report from Yahoo! Sport that says Mourinho has named Lemar on a four-man short list of attacking targets along with Justin Kluivert, Christian Pulisic and Malcom.
