Giroud Replacement ? - Arsenal finally make £36m bid to sign Real Madrid €50million-rated

According to latest reports coming from Spain, Arsenal have reportedly made a £36m bid in attempt to convince France international Karim Benzema to leave Real Madrid and join the Emirates.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, as cited by the Daily Star, is reporting that the North London club have identified Benzema as a target for the January transfer window.

The same report adds that Arsene Wenger is "ready to move" with a bid to sign the Frenchman after having been linked with him many times in the past.

The story says that the striker future at Santiago Bernabeu is uncertain and that Benzema will either leave for cheap in January or for free at the end of the season.

The same article from the Spanish tabloid claims that the Gunners are so far the only club who have registered interest in the player and have made an offer to sign him.

Arsenal's latest interest in Benzema could in other words mean as a replacement to Olivier Giroud who has reportedly been linked with an exit from the club earlier this month.

However, it is also claimed as per the report that the Los Blancos are not happy about our offer, as it falls well below their valuation for the ex-Olympique Lyon striker. Benzema with Real Madrid has won the UEFA Champions League title three times while he's current rated at €50million-rated by Transfermkt.

Meanwhile, the north London side are currently preparing for their Premier League fixtures against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday evening.

The north London side will have to string together a series of consistent Premier League results between now and the end of the season if they want to secure a top-four finish.
