Arsenal closing in on £100,000-a-week star as a swap deal for Sanchez

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a swap deal that will see Alexis Sanchez join Paris Saint-Germain and Julian Draxler seal a transfer to the Gunners.

The Daily Mail recently reported that the Ligue 1 side could try to benefit hugely from Sanchez's transfer by offering Draxler to Arsenal, and another update suggest this could be closer to completion than initially expected.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Gunners and PSG are 'about to close' the exchange, with Real Madrid's transfer plans ruined in the process.

Don Balon claims the Los Blancos were also interested on signing Draxler, who could have been a decent replacement for the team's current out-of-form attacking players.

The Germany World Cup winner has shone with PSG, though Draxler no longer looks sure of a regular starting spot in his preferred role.

The German star could be a great fit at the Emirates, and we would all be delighted to see him come in as a direct replacement for Sanchez should he leave the club this January or next summer.

With Sanchez out of contract at the end of this season, the Gunners face losing a world class forward whilst also missing out on the necessary funds to replace Sanchez at Arsenal.

If Don Balon's reports are anything to go by then Draxler could be close to joining Arsenal in exchange, then we will surely feel they've done very well out of a tricky situation.
